A5 Pen & Watercolour Wash of Olympos, Turkey
Olympos is a ancient Lycian site a couple of hours drive south of Kaş in Turkey which Baz and I visited in January of 2021. I love ruins, there's something about them that just cries "paint me!"
I have painted this A5 size ( 148 x 210 mm / 5-7/8 x 8-1/4 inches) memory of Olympos using pen and watercolour, which allows me to create a wonderful richness of colour, while providing points of detail.
This painting comes unframed, as framing is a very personal preference. As a good frame can really enhance a painting, I would advise asking for framer's advice as to the best matt and frame. This can all help to draw the eye into the painting and enrich the piece.
